Twilight

As day comes to an end, and twilight nears
The heavens burst in flares of pink and gold,
With grace from God, forgetting all my fears,
I gaze in awe at what my eyes behold.

The crickets chirp and sing their song anew,
With dancing fireflies aglowing bright,
The sky is turning to a crimson hue,
And shadows lengthen in the fading light.

While stars appear and twinkle
from above,
I think of how life changes day by day,
But my Creator filled with grace and love
Is never changing; never fades away.

Praise be to God for everything He gives,
He thought of everything for me to see,
He reigns above; forever shall He live,
And every night He watches over me.
