Witness
World of darkness, world of sorrow,
Craving light to save the morrow,
Blindly struggling what to follow,
Heeding not ‘tis sin’s false heart.
Sin assails us with confusion,
Fear and loathing in
perfusion;
Pray we, God, with faith unmoving
Give no reign to sin’s cruel heart.
Dark prevails where light is hidden;
Share
God’s Word as He has bidden,
Shining faith on those around us,
Living lamps from sin’s dark heart.
Come the end of ages
passing,
Come the angels’ trumpets sounding,
In the Book of Life are written
Those not carved on sin’s hard heart.
True the
strength of Jesus’ suff’ring,
True the joy of Jesus’ rising;
Pray our lives be true to Jesus,
Trusting God with all our heart.
