When God Sent Down The Rain

When God above sent down the rain
To water all the ground,
There was a day of suff'ring pain
It's sound was heard around

Cold water covered up the earth,
The land was wet and dark.
All man who took God's word for worth,
Were in the giant ark.

But after many a day and night,
The rain now stopped it's fall.
The mountains rose up into sight
And made a might wall.

Oh God you made each grain of sand,
And made the wet earth dry.
You placed creation on the land,
A rainbow in the sky.

The rainbow in the sky is more
Then colors shining bright,
A cov'nant from the Lord who soars
In robes of shining light.

Oh not again will water fall
And cover all the soil.
The mountains will be great and tall,
For God, Creation's loyal.
