Watering with Your feet
1. When Israel needed water down in Egypt, they pumped it from the Nile with their feet. They barely had enough to wet their gardens, and often hardly grew enough to eat.
CHORUS: Watering with your feet, watering with your feet; do you find yourself still watering with your feet? You can trust the Lord to send the rain from heaven, or just go on a-watering with your feet!
2. God brought them to a
land of milk and honey, and promised them His care would be complete. "Your land will drink the rains I send from heaven; there'll be no need to water with your feet."
3. He promised them His
eyes would be upon them, He'd send them wine and oil and even meat; If they would trust and serve Him in obedience and not go back to watering with their feet.
4. Like Israel, we are called to cross the Jordan, and claim
His promise that our needs He'll meet; If we but trust and serve Him in obedience and don't go back to watering with our feet.
Note: This hymn is based on God's words to Israel as recorded in Deut. 11:10-12.
