Light Not From Fire...9/11

Intro: My barn has burned
          and now I
             can see the moon...

1.Sound the alarm-
  can't you smell the smoke?
  It's just...
  just a bit too warm
for all our alibis to survive
  this heat.

2.They say to RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
Can't you see you WILL be
  burned?
There goes that house of card$-
the one we all were gambling
  on...

Bridge: Who dealt us this hand,
        blindfolded by the stars?

3. There. There goes the barn,
   where we stabled all our
   fears!
   Up! Up, up in smoke-
   catching fire to our tears.

Chorus 1: The barn has burned.
          The tide still knows
          to turn.
          The waters sing in tune
          while dancing with the
          moon
          timing the other
          side...

          in Light not from fire.

4. Their God has lit their ire.
Now there is nowhere to hide-
   they've burned
   our cross-for-hire.
How much hate will our Gods
   abide?

Chorus 2: All eyes can see
          the moon
          through the ashes
          of the truth...
          nothing to hide or gain
          from the other side
          of pain.

          One Light shines on
          our path
          despite the darkest
          wrath.
          That which reflects
          the Light
          shines brightly
          through the night...

          for God is like the
          sun,
          whose flames are
          never done.
          God's people can't
          be doomed
          when we are like
          the moon.

          Whose Light shines
          on you...and them?

5. Who dances with the moon,
in the waters of the tide
and the stars up in the sky?

   Who can hold the hand
of a being made of sand-
Who invites the dust to stand,
and come join in the Dance?
